Updates

  • 2400′ last week
  • New skid steer has arrived with dozer blade and trencher
  • Old trencher repaired and back in service. Had to go down to Adelanto to pick up the parts or they wouldn’t ship for a couple of weeks.
  • After the trencher was repaired trenching was completed on Winuba in less than a week.

Near Future plans

  • Next trenching will occur on Pa Ha and is expected to take about a week.

  • Digging is on hold awaiting Edison locates.

  • Now that there are two machines, both machines will be used in the mornings for trenching, then in the afternoon only one will be used for trenching, and the other will be used for backfilling.

  • Trenchers are being upgraded with rock teeth to allow for the rockier soil conditions.

  • Trenching depth will be reduced to 20″ to avoid water lines.

Planning for house installs

  • House equipment installs may happen after the general council meeting on the 18th. This will give us a chance to talk more to the public about what we will be doing.

  • We would like to set up a board showing the hardware that will be placed in and on the homes.

  • We have received CPE and modems, we need to figure out what other equipment we need (inventory)

  • After the general council meeting, the first contact will be a postcard to all addresses set to receive service according to the grant. The postcard will have fillable contact information to return to the tribal office, or a QR code to bring people to a fillable form.

  • A second postcard will be mailed to blocks of areas scheduled for install. This will allow the installers to focus on one area at a time.

  • Postcards will encourage residents to get the install now even if they don’t want service right now. They may want it in the future, and it’s an estimated cost of $1200.

  • A few days prior to work, door hangers will be left on houses scheduled for install with a contact request.

  • We may also contact people through the Bishop Paiute App

    Stay tuned…
